About UAUT

Why UAUT exists—and why its next stage matters.

UAUT brings professional education, Christian conviction, and practical preparation into one university experience in Tanzania.

What Korea received did not end in Korea.

In Korea’s modern history, missionaries invested in churches, schools, universities, hospitals, and people.

Korean Christians inherited a faith and institutions they had not built alone. In time, they became missionaries, educators, institution-builders, and donors themselves. UAUT emerged from the same pattern described in 2 Timothy 2:2: receive what is faithful, entrust it to others, and prepare them to carry it forward.

Through years of missionary service and giving, Korean partners helped move UAUT from a founding vision to an operating university. Graduates remember professors and missionaries who invested personally in them, brought wider experience into the classroom, and treated professional education as preparation for responsibility.

The unfinished work

The financial responsibility remains too concentrated in the founding Korean network. Faculty, laboratories, technology, scholarships, facilities, maintenance, and academic development require a broader and more durable base of support.

The founding story is Korean. The institution’s future must be Tanzanian. The responsibility can now be shared more broadly.

Why Africa · Why Tanzania

The people being educated now will shape institutions for decades.

01

Why Africa

The demographic center of global Christianity is increasingly African.

Students educated across Africa today will become pastors, engineers, teachers, researchers, entrepreneurs, public servants, professionals, parents, and institutional leaders.

The question is not only how large the African Church will become. It is what kind of leaders will shape it.
02

Why Tanzania

A growing country connected to a consequential East African region.

Tanzania sits within an eight-country East African Community and hosts its headquarters. Dar es Salaam is an important regional gateway. UAUT’s significance lies in preparing professionals whose technical competence, ethical judgment, and Christian conviction hold together in a diverse society.

That is where Christian higher education matters.

The educational proposition

A degree should shape more than professional competence.

UAUT’s proposition is that professional preparation, Christian conviction, ethical judgment, and responsibility to society belong in the same education.

“Gospel leaders” therefore means more than pastors. It includes engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs, educators, and other professionals whose faith shapes how they work, decide, and serve.

Chapel, morning devotion, Bible study, Christian mentorship, faculty relationships, practical training, and Serving Others place formation inside the educational experience—not beside it. The campaign supports the faculty, programs, laboratories, technology, student support, and facilities that make that model credible.

Two educational pathways

University study and technical preparation.

UAUT and UATC serve distinct educational purposes within the wider campus community. This campaign site centers on the university while explaining the technical college alongside it.

University degrees

UAUT

University degree education

UAUT combines degree study with Christian formation, faculty guidance, and a responsibility to apply knowledge beyond individual advancement.

Certificates & diplomas

UATC

Certificate and diploma education

UATC provides practically oriented preparation through certificate and diploma pathways within the wider educational community.

The campus

A physical foundation for the university’s next stage.

The campus in Kigamboni provides space for academic, residential, and community life.

Campus development must connect facilities, equipment, maintenance, faculty, and programs into one coherent academic institution.
